About High Valley Dawn:

High Valley Dawn is a sustainable community that originated from a deep passion for wellness and a commitment to serving fresh, locally grown produce at their nearby restaurant, Beaches Rosslyn Bay. The journey began with the vision of creating a self-sustaining community that harmoniously interacts with nature and inspires future generations to reconnect with their environment. In 2016, this vision materialized with the acquisition of a remarkable 140-acre seaside allotment, which now serves as the foundation for their ambitious projects aimed at promoting ecological sustainability and community well-being.

The community at High Valley Dawn has made significant strides towards establishing a self-sustaining model through the collective efforts of dedicated staff and volunteers from around the globe. A highlight of their initiative is a 2-acre market garden that produces seasonal organic produce for their restaurant, alongside a 2-acre food forest in development, designed to eventually yield a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, and herbs with a focus on Australian natives and bush tucker. The farm operates completely off-grid, utilizing solar power and innovative irrigation techniques, including a biofiltered desalination plant. They also prioritize animal welfare, providing a home to various free-ranging animals such as horses, ducks, chickens, and pigs.

Community engagement is a core value at High Valley Dawn, as they actively welcome both local residents and international visitors to participate in their vision. The farm is deeply respectful of the Indigenous heritage of the Darumbal people, the traditional custodians of the land. They engage in projects that honor and restore Indigenous culture, including the establishment of the Buderoo Bush Tucker Food Forest. The community hosts various events, ceremonies, and educational programs aimed at building relationships, fostering ecological knowledge, and promoting cultural respect. Through these initiatives, High Valley Dawn aspires to create a vibrant, inclusive space that nurtures love and joy in harmony with nature for the greater good of all.
