ARCTUROS is a non-profit organization that focuses on protecting and managing wildlife and the natural environment. Thanks to the help of dozens of volunteers, ARCTUROS takes actions to achieve its goals. The organization coordinates volunteer exchange programs in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Youth and the European Voluntary Service (EVS). These programs provide young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to work voluntarily for short or long intervals in a foreign country.
The objective of the European Voluntary Service is to provide an informal intercultural learning experience to young people, encourage their social inclusion, active participation and preoccupation, and offer opportunities for expression and solidarity with others. It also aims to support the development of local communities and encourage the establishment of new partnerships and the exchange of experiences and good practices between the sending and hosting bodies of volunteers.

The accommodation for volunteers is provided in a traditional house in Aetos, Florina, which can accommodate up to 10 people. Training on issues related to the bear, the wolf, and the mountain regions is also provided by the ARCTUROS staff.
