Located in Sooke on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, ALM Organic Farm spans 15 acres of lush, fertile land. Since 1994, they have held certification as an organic farm (IOPA#401), reflecting a steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability and the health of those who consume their produce. The farm’s organic practices underscore a deep belief in contributing positively to both the ecosystem and the local community.
ALM Organic Farm is known for cultivating an impressive array of produce, herbs, and flowers. Their harvests supply farmers’ markets, special events, and local restaurants, as well as a dedicated box program. In addition to fresh produce, they grow seeds for their seed company, Full Circle Seeds. Each year, the farm hosts an annual Plant Sale, which has become a cherished event for the community. Beyond their agricultural endeavors, ALM Organic Farm actively supports other farmers and local organizations, reinforcing their role as a cornerstone of the regional agricultural community.
ALM Organic Farm occasionally offers opportunities for individuals to join them for shorter, part-time learning and volunteering experiences. These opportunities allow volunteers to immerse themselves in organic farming practices and contribute to the farm’s daily operations. Those interested in volunteering in 2023 are encouraged to fill out the application form and email it to the farm for more information. This is a great chance to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact in sustainable agriculture.
