Situated in the forested hills above the town of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, in Northern India, Tushita serves as a center for the study and practice of Buddhism from the Tibetan Mahayana tradition. This serene location, known as the seat in exile of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, provides an ideal setting for spiritual growth and exploration.
Tushita strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where individuals from all walks of life and cultural backgrounds can immerse themselves in the teachings of the Buddha. Offering a variety of drop-in events and courses, ranging from introductory Buddhist philosophy and meditation to intermediate level studies and group retreats, they cater to both novice learners and seasoned practitioners alike.
Tushita’s volunteers have a 6 day working week (yes, we work hard!). Food and board will be provided at Tushita as well as the offer of a free course after the working period. We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months (unless otherwise stated).
