About International Kadampa Retreat Center:

IKRC GC, or the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon, is home to the fifth Kadampa Temple designed for World Peace. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Northern Arizona, this temple boasts breathtaking views and is conveniently located near the historic Route 66 and the town of Williams. IKRC Grand Canyon provides a serene and revitalizing environment where individuals can discover inner peace and rejuvenation.

About Volunteer Opportunity:

International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon is a volunteer-run charity and there are many ways you can support the activities of the Center. Volunteering is a fun way to meet like-minded people, learn new skills and get more involved. Volunteering can be undertaken by anyone without training, or with minimal training, and can take as little or as much time as you wish. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The work is varied and could include gardening, household, cleaning, painting, maintenance etc. We are always interested to hear about any specific skills you may be able to offer.

We provide accommodation and three vegetarian meals a day in exchange for 7 hours of work per day, with two days off per week. A volunteer visit can be arranged for short term or long term periods and are arranged in advance. Volunteers join in many areas of community life, such as cooking, gardening, housekeeping etc. There are often building projects, and we are are always interested to hear about any specific skills you may be able to offer. Whilst these activities are not always strenuous you will need to be reasonably fit and active to come on a volunteering visit.

Typically you will volunteer Monday to Friday but depending on the activity, it may also include weekends. You will have two days free each week when you can explore the area, join our classes or just relax in the friendly atmosphere of the center.
