THE PROPERTY
Kanekiki farm spans 18 acres and boasts nearly 100 varieties of fruiting trees, including coconuts, bananas, papayas, jackfruit, passionfruit, and many others. Additionally, a diverse range of greens, vegetables, and herbs are cultivated in their greenhouse and gardens.
COMMUNICATION
Living in a community can be both rewarding and challenging. Kanekiki emphasizes the importance of communication that is both honest and compassionate. Adopting a raw food lifestyle can often lead to heightened emotions, and they aim to provide a safe space for expressing these feelings. Residents are encouraged to practice open and considerate communication techniques.

DIET AND LIFESTYLE
The community at Kanekiki follows the 80/10/10 low-fat raw vegan diet, so only fresh, ripe raw produce, herbs, and some spices are kept in the kitchen. Whether newcomers to the 80/10/10 lifestyle or long-time practitioners, all are welcome at Kanekiki. For more information, refer to Dr. Douglas Graham’s book, “The 80/10/10 Diet.”
Clean and Sober Lifestyle:
All residents are required to maintain a clean and sober lifestyle throughout their stay. This means no use of tobacco, coffee, alcohol, marijuana (medical or recreational), recreational use of prescription drugs, cocaine, magic mushrooms, Ice/P, ayahuasca, or any other mind-altering substances. Kanekiki has a zero-tolerance policy for these substances. Anyone found using them on or off the property will be asked to leave. Those who currently use these substances should commit to quitting several months before joining to meet the community’s standards and for their benefit.
This program is for visitors who are interested in exploring communal living on a tropical fruit farm, who may want a more economical way to do so, and who have more than five years’ professional work experience. Work Trade commitments are for a minimum of four-six months. This program involves four hours of manual farm labor every weekday in exchange for room and board and a portion of the weekly food harvests. Work can vary from light housekeeping and organizing to gardening to heavy farm work (such as grass clearing and stump removal and similar tasks) and even construction.
They sometimes have room to accommodate international visitors with visa-imposed time restrictions. Please let us know if this applies to you.
