Nestled in Barnard, VT, the farm stands as a beacon of organic, grass-based dairy farming, offering raw and pasteurized A2/A2 milk, along with delectable ice cream crafted from their small herd of Jersey and Normande cows. In addition, they proudly raise and distribute pastured eggs and chickens, adding to their array of wholesome offerings.
Randy and Lisa Robar, the dedicated stewards of the Farm, have cultivated a vibrant, small-scale farmstead over the years. Their unwavering commitment to providing their community with nourishing and flavorful food has been the driving force behind their dynamic operation.
Volunteers
We are a community-oriented farm and welcome members of our community to help out on the farm. Whether a specific task, general offer to help out when needed or committing to do a weekly chore there is always plenty to do! A number of Vermont Law School students (especially in the Ag program) help us with chores each week, for example.
Do you like cows? Want to support your local farmers? Want to give back to your community? Then let us know! Please note that there are very few unskilled tasks on the farm. However, we’ll be glad to train you up!
WWOOFers
Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms is part of a worldwide effort to link visitors with organic farmers, promote an educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.
WWOOFers’ spend a few weeks helping out on a host farm, learn about the organic movement and sustainable agriculture, and receive room and board during their visit. Kiss the Cow Farm hosts WWOOFers each season. We’ve met some amazing young adults interested in this lifestyle.
Interns
Generally have some farming experience and make a longer commitment of a few months -usually from May to November although limited winter positions may be available. You are paid a stipend, given room and board, and are taught a working knowledge of how to run a grass-based dairy, dairy value-add enterprise, and pastured poultry operation. This is an immersion experience with hands-on training and plenty of practice to give you the confidence to pursue your own farm dream.
